This tutorial is good for those who want to make a paint station in RobotStudio and want to write something on a wall. This are some steps to do a painting station in RobotStudio.
UPDATE
The feedback from this article made me make another short tutorial to explain few things. The tutorial may be found here.

Hello!,
I’m a student of engineering in Spain. I have make a program in RobotStudio but I don’t know about this software. Could you help me in some aspects of this program? I hope to your answer.
Thanks.
Javier
Yes, I can help you. Please send me an email at cristian @ gidinceanu . com with exactly what you have to do in RS and I will do a tutorial.
Excellent tutorial, very helpful. I’m currently working on my final year project, i’m to design and program ABB IRB1400 to be able to paint either letter or shape. Do i have to follow this process of writing in Robotstudio but with a different end effector offcorse or do i require a different program/approach entirely…??
Regards.

Basically you have to follow the same steps, but you have to be careful because the paint effector doesn’t touch the letter or shape. If it’s going to be just a virtual program in RS than you don’t have to worry about this, but if you want to upload the program on robot and do the work physically you have to take in consideration the spray of the paint effector, so the letter/part/etc has to be a little bit further than the path of the robot. I will make an tutorial today and I will post on the blog. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks.
I will be uploading the program on the Robot, then do the work physically with the robot. i’m using Spray Gun F-75s as my end effector and i have an air compressor of max. 10bar to supply air to the sprayer and directional control valve (5/2) for the signal. I have a surface background on RS.

i will make a small tutorial this week to show you how it’s going to be. You will be notified by email. Thanks for comment.
Thanks…will be waiting for it!!!!
